The ICS is a movie club for lovers of fantasy, science fiction, mystery and horror films. We are open to anyone who wants to have a good time socializing with other people who have the same interest in movies that you do!

The Imaginative Cinema Society meets the last Saturday night of each month at 5:30pm. Our meetings are now held at the Kenwood Presbyterian Church located at 4601 Fullerton Avenue, Baltimore, MD. (NOTE: We are in independent group & not church affiliated. Please SEE THIS LINK FOR DIRECTIONS.

On Saturday, October 31st, 2020 at 6pm

tune in to our "ZOOM" meeting

The Old Dark House (1932) with Karloff and Charles Laughton, and directed by James Whale (who also directed the original Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man).

The copy at Kanopy is excellent, and available for streaming through most people's local library.  However, if people aren't able to figure out that access, there's a very good copy at at the following link:
And a copy available on youtube is also quite good:

The movie is 72 minutes long, and we would ask members to stream/watch it in advance of the meeting, where we would discuss it.  Possibly we might ask trivia questions about it, or about the director, to help engage instruction.

Because of the COVID situation in Maryland and with the current status of COVID19 in the state and nation, meetings of the ICS are now Online! via

"Zoom Video Conferencing" to hold virtual meetings.

Click the above link for more information. It works on all platforms. If you are interested in participating, Click here to send a message.

AND Remember Everyone:

We are in this together

COVID safe

ALSO please note a change in membership rates:

There is only one dues fee, which is:

$30 per year per member

As always, donations to the club help fund our activities. If you order anything from the Amazon link on this page, a portion of the proceeds go toward ICS.

At our most last meeting:

The Club

 hosted via "ZOOM"

We had a continuation of the "Decades of Genre Films" Panel from last year. Norman Prentiss moderated and the panel discussed horror, sci-fi, or fantasy films of the 40s; 60s and 80s with the help of John Ward and Joe Martellotta

and usual, a great time was had by ALL!

Club news:

The club finances are dwindling. We are looking for any additional donations to the cigar box and for any donated items that are Ebay possibilities.

Tom Diggin, our esteemed chairperson announced that he will step down as chairperson at the end of the year. This will leave open the position. We are hoping that some of the "new blood" will take on the challenge. Thank you Tom for several years of excellent a faithful service to the ICS.
